Trailer module
Trailer module
Hi I have bought a volvo module in the hope to try and see if it will work as the ford ones are expensive, I can poll the module ect in UCDS, when I change my BCM configuration with trailer module I get error on trailer module software incompatible, and it stops my parking sensors working,
Now is there a way to read this chip? I wonder if it could be read with jtag
There is a port on the board also You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Trailer module
Looks the same as the Ford one.
Try to put the Ford software on it - by OBD - normal vbf flash or by flashing that Motorola (Freescale) 9S12D64 chip, using that "port" you have in the last photo (GND, Reset, VCC, BKGD) - but for this last procedure you need a dump.

Re: Trailer module
JTAG is totally different from "BDM"
There are lots of tools that work with Motorola 9S12, especially D64 version which is very old... but for this to work you need a Dump from a Ford module.
If UCDS has the needed files, then try to use ForScan to update it by OBD ... or Ford IDS.

Re: Trailer module
You could try to understand where those VBFs fit into Flash Memory and write their contents over BDM.
Saving first the entire Flash from 9S12D64 by BDM you can do an "unlimited" number of tryouts to convert it to a Ford one.

Is there any cheap tools that could read and write to this moduleDGAlexandru wrote: ↑25 Aug 2022, 19:55 You could try to understand where those VBFs fit into Flash Memory and write their contents over BDM.

Re: Trailer module
For the pinout - just use a multimeter and PDF of 9S12D64 to discover the 3 or 4 (depending if you use power from Programmer to power the board) pins needed.
