There is something weird with those C+ - their manufacture date is 2017.
Did you saved the original FW? If yes, post the files here so we can have a look.
Also, put a picture of the PCB.

you will need the mid face software or mod

There is no hardware difference between first version of C+ (vFL or preFL) and second version of C+ (middle FL or mFL) in terms of Gauges.
According to that image, the LCD shows the image as it should, so the LCD "drivers" in the FW are a match.

The Speed Gauge should stay at 0 even if you put FL FW on older C+. The only one that goes crazy in this case is the Fuel Gauge, and this one should go UP until it reaches the Speed Gauge; also the image on LCD is shifted to the left.
One problem could be that the Gauges were removed and now they need to be calibrated,
or he also played with the EEPROM and messed things there,
or the 8U version of C+ uses a different FW (I never had one in my hands for study).

On a quick search over Internet I saw that 8U versions of C+ have manufacture date of 2015 till 2017, which I find to be strange...

Now that we have an image with the PCB I can confirm that the LCD is the new version, that is on FL version of C+, but he still has all the Gauges.

you can put FL 1412 on to mid face 1122 ok only bug is the Auto light
to cant put preface on middle face otherwise the speedo goes of scale and other issues
im sitting hear runnig the different codes as i type

dont mater the digital gauges take there place. Facelift to middle ok..i have a middle face GALAXY 2010 and put facelift 1412 in no problem
then i added the convers mod and patch for the autolight.
