How to switch car mode (Mondeo, Focus) for FX
How to switch car mode (Mondeo, Focus) for FX
Firmware is all the same in FX, NX and MCA units, regardless of car it is used. But there must be some Board ID or coding (maybe via the serial...) which makes some differences like the light-control.

Re: Repair FX, NX satnav units not starting anymore
Is interesting switch mondeo to focus and viceversa, the Ucds have this option to Sony radio. In theory, if I write backup from focus2 to mondeo unit, this unit work always in mondeo mode? Or worn in focus mode? Today I connect my fx in my home kuga installation and don’t have communication in can bus, in mondeo the can bus signal are in mms can?

I couldn't get behind this secrect, but stopped investigating because lack of time. Sooner or later i will find out. It is not the firmware, i know. Also not the Board-Id? My best guess for now is that it belongs to the Modelnumber.oscarboiro wrote: ↑04 Jan 2020, 00:56 In theory, if I write backup from focus2 to mondeo unit, this unit work always in mondeo mode? Doesn't that 507 sector contain also the Model Number?
Maybe a 507 sector change and then a FW update to have also the other chip reflashed will do the trick.

Mondeo and Focus have different configuration in illumination button NAVI.
On Mondeo configuration illumination button operate via CAN.
On Focus configuration illumination button Via cabel...
If you need change configuration FOCUS to Mondeo need rewrite Flash sector 507. On sector 507 in flash is configuration and PIN.
On Mondeo is eeprom blank on FOCUS is eeprom full...
If your need change configuration Mondeo to FOCUS need rewrite Flash sector 507 and EEprom.
Must have EEprom and flash sector 507 on Mondeo Navi and FOCUS Navi. If you have this you can change configuration Navi ...
If you no know PIN enough rewrite sector 507...
Sorry for my english...

Re: Repair FX, NX satnav units not starting anymore
From what I remember if you clear an EEPROM then at next boot it will be "repaired" but you loose all the stored settings like radio stations, volume / DSP presets, NAVI addresses and so on.

Maybe enough rewrite only sector 507 in Flash...DGAlexandru wrote: ↑04 Jan 2020, 21:32 From what I remember if you clear an EEPROM then at next boot it will be "repaired" but you loose all the stored settings like radio stations, volume / DSP presets, NAVI addresses and so on.
when I change the configuration I always rewrite sector 507 and EEprom...
Re: Repair FX, NX satnav units not starting anymore
You remember right. The EEPROM will be rewritten with a default which is placed somewhere in Flash.DGAlexandru wrote: ↑04 Jan 2020, 21:32 From what I remember if you clear an EEPROM then at next boot it will be "repaired"
Sector #507 (not #509) contains the serial (last 7 digits of label) of an NX.
On FX it's sector #251, because it's flash is only half size of NX (32 MB).
