For FX you only need to rewrite sector 251.
For NX you only need to rewrite sector 507.
Of course, if you have time for tests you can compare diff. between them and do only small changes to see where is the byte that changes type of car (and also CAN signalisation).
Replacing entire sector will also change the unlock PIN.

I've been through this already and can tell it does not change anything on the light behaviour. I've put a firmware of an 8M5T (Focus) FX onto an 8S7T device, but it still expect light signal on CAN.
Changing the mentioned sectors will only change serial and therefore PIN.
I suspect the radioprocessor to do this job, which also would be very logical for me. And so ich swapped the EEPROM too, either without any change. But the radioprocessor has it's own on-chip flash and i'm shure it's inside this!
BTW: UCDS has an conversion option for radios, may we could try that and sniff the traffic?!

Need some help.
Does anyone have a dump (segger) file for a HS MCA DAB for focus 2 (SD card, no video in)
I found a Mondeo navi and I want to adapt to Focus 2.
I keep my climate module as they are not hardware compatible (different pinout, can,...).

Just a note: You can use "any" MCA firmware, because there is no difference between them, and for shure you should always update to lastest SP after writing the firmware back using JTAG. This will get mainboard and graphicsboard back into sync. Also, there never was a real DAB-Version of the MCA, the hardware is exactly the same as any other non-video MCA. Only difference was that it was sold together with the external DAB-module and therefore it has had a newer firmware version. But this is all included in the latest servicepack you can freely download from my wiki.
