TPMS patch

Post by Syntax »

Hello, I am trying to get TPMS working on my 2011 Mondeo which did not have factory installed TPMS and I need aid with this.
I have installed TPMS sensors in tyres also the mechanic checked their compatibility and if they are working. Then I installed Convers mod with TPMS and patched EEPROM according to this sheet on offset 160 positions 0x9 - 0xD to 02 01 03 07 02 as I previously had 01 01 01 07 02.
I did this with ELS27 and IPC updater 1.4 and its feature edit EEPROM. Then with Forscan I changed TPMS in CCC to 02 - TPMS without WBL both in BCM and in IPC (tried also 05 and 06 but then DTC in IPC appeared - U2101 - Central Module Configuration Incompatible).
The menu Tyre pressure correctly appeared in Convers hovewer everytime I hit assign tyres it just restarts.
The weird part is that everytime I clear DTC or leave the car locked for few seconds the EEPROM patch returns to 01 01 02 07 02 and Convers starts complaining to check all tyres.

Is there something I missed and can anyone help me with this? I have reverted Convers to version without TPMS so it does not complain about the tyres.

If your Convers restarts when you try to "assing tyres" then I think you have something wrong in your TPMS Patch implementation. Do you have this TPMS mode added by an official mod tool or did you added it by yourself?

Hm, for me, this does not fit together... do you installed the Mod or not? If you installed it, there should be no need to patch anything else, because this is what the Mod is good for.

That was meant as just flashing main/flash vbf convers mod through ipc updater :D

Alright, I have got my hands on this patch and will try it tommorrow but even though I would like to know what are the steps which this patch does.
I have already tried changing the bytes in Convers EEPROM for the tyre pressure menu to show up but obviously this is not enough as the EEPROM gets reset to the previous state after DTCs are cleared or car is locked for a few seconds.

This could because the configuration should come from the BCM. It transmitts the CCC every few seconds via CAN, IPC fetches this and set's up. So if there is TPMS off, it will be in IPC sooner or later.

So how to change the TPMS in BCM? Only setting it in CCC is not enough as I have TPMS set to 02 (TPMS without WBL) and it still thinks that the car does not have TPMS...
