Bosch me 9.0

Bosch Me 9.0 found in manyu Volvo cars and Mondeo mk4 with 2.5t, Kuga 2.5t, Ford focus mk2 ST and RS, S-max.

Ecu in all of the above is absolutely the same in terms of hardware, the only difference is flash and eeprom.

Let's share the less harmful routine in flashing those.

In Mondeo and S-max it flashes with Kess V2 not a single issue. Haven't tried with UCDS.
If it dies i worked around only to bdm it - didn't have ucds at the time to try.
IDS and Kess can't revive it.
Also, kess cant read this ecu in mondeo.


For the focus it's hit and miss, although various tools can read and write.
I will continue with that later. Please share your experience.

Something about this ecu on a mk2 Focus ST

On focus the read is ok, via elmconfig. But i'm trying to understand what is the reason to brick when write. Because with 3 out of 5 files it's ok, hw sw version is same but some files brick it on write.It's more often to brick it with elmconfig, but does happen with the kess as well... Any ideas? Thankfully on the Focus the unbrick process doesn't need to BDM it.

Also something interesting is that the eeprom on this one is 1kb, but when downloaded with BDM100 for example the eeprom is 8kb which is just the 1kb eeprom duplicated 8 times in the file.

Any idea why bdm100 downloads an 8kb eeprom and refuses to write 1kb dumped eeprom with other tool....
unfortunately i don't have other bdm tool.
