Hi all, here i have a fusion g2 which i need to register in my country, but they don’t allow res turn signals.
As of now i have disassembled tail lights and sourced replacement leds in yellow color.
I traced briefly the led board but for now i cant identify how to separate upper and lower part.
Anybody done this already?
I understand that i need to edit config to make it work as eu.
Red and black wire shine the leds on both sides.
Blue is for side lights both in this board( two small diodes) and on upper board for the full sidelight.
Yellow does nothing
The worst part is i cant fiddle with electric side of the car, because it is in body shop next weeks.
Any help appreciated.

I never opened such kind of taillight, only MK4 ones. But how did you manage to separate the plastic parts without cracking/damaging them?
For the electionics, if i understood you right, you just want to remove the red LEDs and solder it to yellow ones?
Mostly they use Osram Dragon LEDs for that (if it's Valeo).

I finished them already.
Open with tool like dremel with diamond disk. There is a video on youtube a guy showing the exact same method i used.
They are heat plastic welded, but separate okay.
Basically the lights have upper and lower leds - on usa model both are red and work as a turn and brake light.
I separated the circuit top and lower, changed upper with orange and used one unused cable in lights to drive the new leds.
Good thing in those tailights is that the car has one unused wire on both ends of plug and when you change asbuilt the signal for turn indicator goes to it, just on the tailight part you need to move the pin to other location corresponding to the car wiring.
After done - glue with polyurethane sealant.

One of my unfinished projects is to extend the red LED taillights in Mondeo MK4 Facelift with additional amber LED lights, so the rear driving light/brake light could also be used as a turn indicator, which would look much better than thos ugly old-fashioned bulbs on the side. The main problem for me was to open the case without cracking something which looks bad than.
