Found sbl,

Was worth a gamble as only cost me £20 for a jaguar blis module, turns out they are different, possibly different flash chip

I do not have both at hand, latest two i bought are already inside my car ;-)
But as they are sealed/glued it is not easy to compare the boards.
I don't think they are different on the boards... or better say, i can't imagine that they differ.

I did think they should be the same as wouldn't be cost effective to make them different, i wondered if there was more vbf files but I dont have a genuine one to go into update wizard on ucds to see what comes up

Writing a .vbf file will not help you. You must rewrite the entire contents of the Ford chip ...

I guess would need access to the chip

Good work. Try take identify all relevant parts (BOM).
I think TMS470 is for control and car communication and ADW for radar-DSP.
Maybe no external flash placed.

It was pretty easy to teardown, sharp stanley knife around the edge of the case (not hard sealed) and cover pops off, rework Station to heat the solder joints and carefully leaver out, the pins on the housing are built into it, i will get some better pictures to identify parts

Yes, TMS740 is the core processor - here we have the "calibration" files.
ADSP-BF531 is a "BlackFin" processor which seems to be used mostly in multinedia systems.

Put here the txt part of the VBFs you used in order to see at what addresses it writes those bytes and see if rewrites the whole TMS740 flash space or there are zones left untouched.
