Unlock Opel/Vauxhall Navi - Date needed?

Hello,
i recently came in touch with someone having a locked Opel Touch&Connect radio. The display shows the Bosch-type and serial (oh man, what a service! whish they did it already on the Ford-series!) and a lock-date in reverse notation (e.g. "20.07.19" for the 19th of July in 2020). Now all i read in forums is, that this date is needed to calc the unlock code. This curios me, because i think the date is not necessary for anything.
Besides i tried to get the same result as others get by calcing from serial but using different known alogs, but all are wrong. So it's not serial-lookup like V-Series, nor PIN-Calc of 300, 330 and 360 series of Ford satnavs. Any idea here?
