Hello,

I'm based in the UK and have a 2008 Ford Mondeo 2.5T with an early NX sat-nav (DVD).
I'm not sure quite how much I will be able to contribute, but I'll be happy to write up any successes I have.
1st project I intend to try is swapping the navigation DVD drive for an SD unit - it looks like both drives use the same red connector, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if it were that simple.

If you want to keep the current look, then you'll have to swap the back of the unit and also the PCB that is fitted on the screen.

If you want to change the look and go with FaceLift version you will have to extend the cables that go to those 3 buttons, change the back "case" that fits the audio unit in the dashboard and also change the armrest with the FaceLift one.

For both versions you will also need to use an adapter for AM/FM radio antenna, from "standard" to FAKRA.

Connector is the same, but MCA and NX USE Different software and different maps.

As DGAlexandru said you can use the whole unit and change the front fascia only or use fl fascias but you will need to trim the armrest a bit

You dont need to change cables to climatronic and connect climate sensor, just kked plugged old climatronic and hide it behind MCA, mca will work with climate control

he has NX, but it id with DVD, not with SD card.. so he already has the "good" climatronic module.

yeah i know, i already have 4th radios in my car, but if he change nx to mca,climatronic will not work without connect external sensor or plug old "little climatronic" and hide it behind radio, because mca and nx are different in clima control, he can plug in but climate will not react.
I just just bought old climate control,connect it(white and black connector), hide it in buble foil and "throw" it behind mca sat nav, and mca works 100%. this is a easiest way hkw to change nx to mca (dvd to sd), if i not forget 2day i will take some photos how i mean how to do it

What you can't do is just plug the SD-Card reader from an MCA somewhere onto the board of an NX. They are totally different interfaces, DVD uses standard PATA and SD uses own protocol.
