I start this thread to gather and share all information about the various partnumbers we found for the systems.

Some time ago i incorporated all informations i could find on the net into an Excel spreadsheet, removed duplicates and correct errors i found. Then i separate the list by unit type. First of all, "Blaupunkt" is just a brand name of the "BOSCH" company for their radio units. Like Visteon and Sony they develop and produce car radio units for Ford.

There are three base types:

1. Travelpilot FX (small display and SD), also referred to by BOSCH as "LSRNS" or very early builds as "LSTFT"
2. Travelpilot NX (big touch display and DVD), also referred to by BOSCH as "HSRNS"
3. Travelpilot MCA (big touch display and SD), also referred to by BOSCH as "HSRNS"

For each basetype there is a "-Plus" version, equipet with an additional camera input, whereas the picture is shown when putting the gear lever into reversing mode. There a special model called "Travelpilot MCA2", which is inbetween MCA and MCA-Plus and has support for the Premium-Sound-System, like the MCA-Plus. Technically there is an additional amplifier for a center speaker (same type as high tone speakers in the doors) and a subwoofer lowlevel output.

Next i put all the various number into a table in my Wiki, where i curate them:

Each device has at least those number types:

• Ford partnumber, looking like this: "8S7T 18K931 BD".
• BOSCH partnumber, looking like this: "7 612 300 539"
• BOSCH serialnumber, looking like: "881 C7E3A0539 9 9251424"
• BOSCH serialnumber graved into the cover case above the printed label, looking like: "3A053999251424"
• mainboard PCB revision number, like "1278D04-L6"
• graphicsboard PCB revision number, like "8491G01-L1"
• keyboard PCB revision number, like "5764D01-LA4"
• FAKRA "Quadlock" plug PCB revision number, like "1280D04-U"
• SD-Card PCB revision number, like "6472D03-U"

All or some of those numbers should be contained inside the mainboard Flash also. And as you might all know, the PIN code to protect the device is related to the serialnumber of the device in some way.

Let's find out how they are all related and find patterns!

Please, whoever had an Satnav unit at hand, look after the board-code and report it here together with the Ford- and Bosch-Partnumber to complete the database i linked above, THANKS!

PCB numberings

First thing i found out was, that on the PCBs the suffix "-L*" denotes the layer-number of a multilayer PCB. Think of multilayer PCBs like a Lasagna. You only see the top and bottom layer but there are some inbetween. So if you see "*-L1" as a number, it denotes the first layer of a multilayer board: Bosch enumerates their layers from "1" which is the topmost, where the majority of parts a placed, upwards to "4" or "6" which is on the bottom side. For example, if the bottom of mainboard PCB ist labled "1278D04-L6", it tells us that the PCB consist of 6 Layers: Here another example where you can see the layer 2 partnumber shining through the thin fiber carrier, because there is not green silk mask applied to this area: So to identity the board itself, the "-L*" suffix can be omitted.

Ford numbers

They have nothing to do with the rest of the numberings, they are Ford-specific only. But they also follow some rules.
Look at the example: "8S7T 18K931 BD"
There are three parts, delimited by space or dash ('-') or sometimes without a delimiter.

The first part consists of 4 charactes and denote the model of car it is used in, and also the year where this part was introduced (first used).
The first char is the year of the first use, so in our example "8" stands for "2008". The numbers are hex, so after "9" follows "A" for "2010", "B" for "2011" and so forth. Got the schema?!
The next three chars tells us about the model, or more the chassis of the model. As you might know there are cars sharing the same base of electronic equipment an drivetrain and such, but only differs in their look. Those "groups" are for example "Ford Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy" or "Focus, C-Max, B-Max, Kuga, Transit".
Here is my current meaning of the numbers:

• "*S7T" (ex. "8S7T") => Mondeo
• "*M2T" (ex. "BM2T") => S-Max/Galaxy
• "*M5T" (ex. "8M5T") => Focus
• "*V4T" (ex. "8V4T") => Kuga/C-Max
• "*C1T" (ex. "8C1T") => Transit/Nugget

The next part is the partgroup and unittype number (ex. "* 18K931 *"). It tells just what kind of part it is, like in our example a Satnav Radio unit. All Satnavs share the same groupnumber.

And the last part tells hardware- and software-level (ex. "* BD"). The first char is the hardwarelevel and the last one the softwarelevel. The later one could be changed by an update afterwards, but shure the unit keeps it's originate number

So i would expect that units with and without RVC (camera input) differ in their hardware level.

BOSCH partnumbers

You must not be a scientist to find out the similarities in their numberings

The graved number is just the rightmost representation of the serial number:
"3A053999251424" = "881 C7E3A0539 9 9251424"

The "7 612 300 539" is the type of radio and should somehow relate to the last two chars of the Ford partnumber.
It is also contained in parts of the serial:
"881 C7E3A0539 9 9251424" / "7 612 300 539"

The real unique part of the serial seems to be:
"881 C7E3A0539 9 9251424" but of the findings of @oscarboiro it maybe only the last block "881 C7E3A0539 9 9251424", because that is what can be read out by OBD PID over the MM-CAN bus (he uses ELMConfig for it).

First of all, thanks for you efforts, i know it's really a pain to remove the unit from the dash...
I've never seen such a device in real before. Would love to take a look into it
If have DAB too, but as separate module since this DAB doesn't work in Germany since about 8 years or so, only the successor DAB+ which you radio can't receive, but the external module.
Well, from the partnumber it is definitively a MCA, as you said with the FAKRAs. The Video-In is blue-green, whereas from the Mondeo units it's light-brown.

Today i founs one aplication to take pin numbers on a NX models, the price it so higer, but the demo mode has information of parts numbers and serials. i look the mondeo wiki and and need some part numbers, in next screen shots has a little bit more informatio.

Now, i can confirm that it is possible to read out a part of the serialnumber via CAN-Bus. I used ELM327 and ELMConfig, switched my ELM to MS-CAN, choose "ACM" from ELMConfig and read the params (the Convers will gateway the CAN messages to the MM-CAN Bus for us).
You can see the correlation between the label informations: What is important to know (e.g. for PIN calculation) is the full serial number, here "881 C7E3A0536 8 8326084".
The last part ("8326084") can be taken from the ELM readout above.
The first two parts ("881 C7E3A0536") correlate to the Ford device type (model) "8S7T 18K931 BB" and the BOSCH part "7 612 300 536". You can find the "536" as the last three digits in the second part of the serial. The first part and the prefix of the second part is a bit a mystery to me now.
The third part ("8") seems to be related from the built date of the unit. In the top label you find it above the "SALE" field, here "08 11 27" in the example. This is read as "27th of November 2008" ("YY MM DD"). In Oscars picture above you can find the date from 2012 which lead to a character "C". In Ford-Notation of parts, after "9" for "2009" comes "A" for "2010" and "B" for "2011", "C" for "2012" and so on.
