CAN TOOLS WE USE

just thought I would start a new post to see what can bus hardware our members use.
Other than the the obd type tools UCDS, ELS37, and other various clones
My most used device the Can Hacker 3 , it has 2 separate channels , covers all baud rates Bon USB and Can
It also has A plug on unit to convert to a LIN bus reader, i have others that I have collected

Canhacker has got to be the best canbus tool the say you can log ect makes it slot easier

Oh, there are plenty of tools out there, especially on Linux. Take a look at Github or hackaday. It really depends on what you plan to do. When analyzing a foreign bus, it would be good to have filters, statistics and graphical representations of data to find what you are looking for.

For manipulating messages, e.g. to find out what they are used for or what single bytes/bits do, it would be necessary to have a gateway of two interfaces, you place in front of the suspected module to prevent it from sending and receiving data.
