Look at the schematics. If i remeber right it was in brown and blue connector.

Thank you Go4IT

looks like the blis modules connect to normal MS-CAN and the MS-CAN termination linked together

Yes, they are both bound to the same CAN-Bus. The reason why there are two connectors in the BCM is like in the IPC for MM-CAN, the termination.
It is NOT MS-CAN but a private CAN called "3RD-CAN". It uses the same CAN-Bus protocoll and speed like MS-CAN/MM-CAN, namely 125 kbit/s, 11-Bit ID, 8 Byte payload.
Until now i could not manage to do a catchup of the bus, but i prepared for it by making a tap from the bus into my glovebox ;-) So, if i find time i put on my Laptop and make some sniffs. Could not be so hard to analyze the traffice i guess.
The reason why it is not also put on MS-CAN is for security. CAN-Busses must not be accessible outside the car, and the BLIS-Modules could be easily reached. I think this is also ruled by law.

I don't think they used a "private CAN" because of security / law. In Mondeo 4 Blis modules are used only for showing that warning LED in the side mirrors.
My guess is that they use other kind of signaling or the existing CANs were allready too congested.

Yup. On the Mk5 the SODL and SODR are available on MS-CAN, for example.

But if there bound wouldn't it still be connected to MS-CAN?

I understand about the security but with them bound I would have thought you would still have acsess to MS-CAN outside the car,
very easy to unlock the car by sending a simple id and data on MS-CAN I used to have an arduino project that unlocked and locked my car via my phone

UPDATE sorry I have just seen what you mean its a complete separate CAN some reason I thought MS-CAN was on the brown bcm plug I have just realised its on the blue, and 3rd CAN is on brown plug

If memory serves me right there are two kinds of BCMs: 2.2 TDCi and the rest.
The part numbers should be:
- BG9T-14A073-Yx -> without TPMS
- BG9T-14A073-Xx -> with TPMS
similarly, for all other engines:
- BG9T-14A073-Dx -> without TPMS
- BG9T-14A073-Cx -> with TPMS

Replacement BCMs can only be ordered with TMPS, as far as I have observed.
There is no mention on BLIS on the BCMs so it should be safe to assume that all facelift BCMs have the private CAN built in.
