EDU Mini is too mini :)
You can't go to a more powerfull version.. whatever the unlocking codes you give it... as it is different hardware, with less processing power.
But will it still work with convers

I got the mini connected all up with a logic converter as it's 3.3v and just get errors looks like I will be better off buying the bigger unit

I can now dump convers and now trying to erase chip and reflash I think I broken it 🤣 won't do anything now

Your JTAG connection is not stable enough.
There are also some tunning parameters you should try to add to the initialisation sequence.
See the JTAG settings for OMAP - the MCU for BP NX Navigation and go from there... or maybe there are also JTAG settings already available on this forum for MAC7116 of Convers+

Thanks set the init to auto detect and now it works, my bench convers 29seconds to flash maim 😁 I just need to try recover my other convers which is locked or something from m0tral

MODA MODB can anyone explain how we use these in more detail, I put vcc to MODA which allows me to erase the selected sectors and then after a switch off and on of the convers allows me to flash the main, but on the one m0tral has (locked up?) It won't let jtag talk to it anymore I'm wondering if I have to do something different with MODA MODB

Those pins dictate how MAC7116 uses its internal and external memory and which of them are in protected mode.. or something like this. Their operating modes are described in MAC711x family PDF... you can find it also here on this forum.

Managed to fix my convers, selected unprotect chip and now allowed me to flash whole new file with a stock PBL got rid of m0trals new edited PBL now I have full control of my ipc again, comparing between stock PBL and m0trals PBL there is alot differences

There are at least 3 original PBL versions.
They look very different but putting a FaceLift one on a PreFaceLift Convers+ I couldn't observe any problem in its normal operating mode.

May you share with us this PBL, please?

As DHAlexandru said, those pins control the setup of the MCU:

I marked the green one as the default operation mode. The onboard-flash is NOT protected and MODA and MODB are LOW (0) because they are tied to GND due to resistors on the board. So applying +3.3V to them from the CPU Vcc lines can bring them into a desired state.
steveb has made a small backup-pcb where he added a DIP switch to change those lines as needed, cool idea.
