I dont see anywhere where you are describing issues with IDS programming...
Did some error appear during PATS initialization?

Ok, hopefully i can remember all of it...
I had an IDS with Online-Access and an genuine Rotunda VCM-I interface.

My first idea was to use the "replacement" function of IDS.
I hoped that this simply copy the parameters including the keys from the existing ABS module to the other one. What i didn't know at this point was the fact, that this special function is ment to replace a defective component with exactly the same version of the module. So after reading the data the function prompts me to replace the component, i did this and was so dumb to fully replace the ABS module instead of only connecting it first, and after that the software claims that i put the wrong type of component in and aborts the process :-/

The next idea was to simply put the new module in and initialize the PATS with it. There i ran into several issues where i don't know which function to use. The new ABS module had keys stored in it from the foreign car. I tried to do a initialize and such, all without success. I didn't dare to delete all the keys and init the whole PATS as i don't know if that may go wrong and i don't want to end up in an workshop garage with a non starting car...

After that my VCM-I get broke and i never get it running again... and so the story ends.
The last thing i was thinking of is to find a way to just replace the keys-memory stored in the new ABS with the keys of my old ABS, but also here i did not get any progress until today.

I have also measured the space required for taking off the electronic part and it is 9cm, so there is no way the could be done in the car, even with slightly bending the pipes...
