Hey folks! I was looking for the CAN-ID and Bit where the Ford Focus 2 will reflect the status of the reverse gear lever. It must be on MS-CAN.
At the Mondeo i know it was ID 433, Databyte D4 (5th Byte from the right) and therein B1 (2nd Bit from the right). Maybe on Focus it's on a totally different one... Same on Ignition, which is ID 048 on Mondeo, where it sits in Databyte D3.
What i try to do is to engage an original reverse camera module i get out of a Focus 2 (build 2008). Currently it draw some amps when powering it with 12V, but it neglegt to produce a picture. On the mondeo this is already done as the module sees the "IGN ON" message. Only the Navsys will enable the screen if it sees reverse gear on CAN. On Focus it may be similar but just other IDs, Bytes, Bits.
Can somebody assist?

Re: Ford Focus 2 ignition and reverse gear CAN message
please check:
0x3B0 for reverse gear (first data byte from left side in the message (D0 & 0x0F) == 1 ==> reverse gear engaged)
0x3B0 for reverse gear (first data byte from left side in the message (D0 & 0x0F) == 1 ==> reverse gear engaged)
Re: Ford Focus 2 ignition and reverse gear CAN message
Maybe we are talking about different makes of the Focus, but in my CAN-Logs for HS-CAN/MS-CAN of the MK2 (2005) there is no message ID 0x3B0 at all...
