Pats incode outcode calc
Re: Pats incode outcode calc
nutra and i had some conversations on Slack about that and try some things out. He has access to IDS/ETIS. The problem seems that if PATS is new algo then IDS will not prompt for OUTCODE/INCODE but use a direct ETIS connection to fetch the needed data. So there seems to be no way of putting my OUTCODE into somewhere to gather an INCODE from ETIS. But i saw other videos on Youtube where guys doing so...
Meanwhile i got a license for FJDS so i'm going to play around with it.

I never saw the INCODE/OUTCODE prompt for the 2011+ cars, only for the older ones, which are also programmable with Forscan.
It maybe was a very old IDS, but who knows?

Re: Pats incode outcode calc
You're right. nutra also said that on never PATS cars, there is no prompt for that. But we both believe that in the background communication the same things happen. IDS requests an OUTCODE from the Ford ETIS webservice, only that it is not shown to the user. We now try to log the communication to see what's going on... our hope/idea is: if it is possible to intercept the webcall IDS is making to ETIS, we may be able to also produce an arbitrary one, having a different INCODE, and so provide necessary info for ForScan to proceed.

Re: Pats incode outcode calc
In the past IDS / FJDS opened a new browser window with a big key (encrypted) added to the website address. You are then required to enter an account to acess PATS. After you authenticate it refreshes the page 2 times, remaining in a simple white page with some text saying that you should return to IDS / FJDS.
The newer versions of IDS / FJDS use a different approach: an internal web browser (without an easy posibility to see the address) opens instead...... many times it fails this process... so I started using FDRS for newer cars.
I've sniffed CAN traffic for some 05.2010 onwards cars and the PATS negotiation looks the same as the older ones, based on simple INCODE / OUTCODE.
I was thinking on emulating a KVM for example and try to request INCODE for OUTCODES I can choose in order to compare them with older PATS codes and also be able to use this trick to have INCODE when using ForScan on newer cars.

Re: Pats incode outcode calc
Now that i have a valid license for FJDS i found that it seems it doesn't support PATS programming for keyless-go MK4 facelift
When clicking "PATS": I get: But there is no RFA function for PATS.

FJDS is very striped-down, when compared with IDS. Based on my experience so far, FJDS is more aimed or developed for the US market.
Re: Pats incode outcode calc
I just wonder if why it points to a function that don't exist in the software, that makes no sense. I'm now going to install IDS, but as it only accept genuine VCM (no J2534 passthrough) it need to build that missing OBD cable...
Re: Pats incode outcode calc
last time (7 days ago) IDS couldn't make pats on 2012 keyless kvm. it went through fdrs
