The vbf file, if you remove the vbf header you are left with just the binary correct?
If so could this be use to have mapped, maybe dpf removed then put header back and flash with ucds?

Re: Pcm firmware
Usually there are more blocks that are present in VBF file.
If you want to use data from VBF to create a PCM dump that can be used with tuning tools you'll have to transform it to BIN file. UC DS can do this, but it might fail, depending on the fill byte that needs to be added - 0x00 or 0xFF... so you need to know how a "real" dump looks like.
There are also regions of Flash memory that are not present in VBF. PCM "auto completes" them on flashing procedure or after it boots for the first time. There are some tuning tools that won't work well without this data.. and also after you modify and go back to VBF you need to remove them. The same with the "filling bytes".
But.. I've done this for some PCM's and it works very well.

Re: Pcm firmware
Too dangerous and time consuming.
If you want to go into mapping or flashing pcm you need to invest in some tools and I say some, because not all fords are done with just a single tool.
some are BDM only as well.

Re: Pcm firmware
Once you do it for a certain engine version then it is much easyer to put the same modified file on other PCMs for the same engine version... Everything on OBD
