1.Format a USB memory stick, ensuring the file system is set to FAT32. If update somehow does not start , try formating to FAT/FAT16
2.Unzip the contents (all 21 items) of the zip file, and copy them to the root of the memory stick, i.e. without placing them in any folders. The contents of the memory stick should appear in "root" as loose files.

Also looking for a way to do it directly (e.g. JTAG) but not luck until now. See me notes on this thread about hardware-repairing a bricked BT-module: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=48

I think to change language you have to change this in the central config , if this is even an option at all ?

no, changing it in central config doesn't change the language as it's in the firmware. Only with NX or MCA you can change the language as it's in the nav and uses the bt module just for the mic.
Anybody successfully changed the firmware with other lang on this via ucds or jtag?

Built a reader/ writer for the gt25c64 eeprom which has. UFdn base
I used a modified click board as it was the cheapest source of a UFDN socket

Nice job. As i experimented with it (because i suspected it to be the cause of the boot fault8 i found out that one could replace it by a standard Eeprom by desoldering the part and find points on the pcb to solder wires onto.
But the eeprom content simply get's repopulated each time the module starts, if it is empty. So it seems is of no use in repairing the unit (like on satnav radios).
